JOHN HAGELIN, Ph.D.
John Hagelin, Ph.D., president of the US Peace Government, is a world-renowned quantum physicist, educator, author, public policy expert, and the 2000 presidential candidate of the Natural Law Party.
Dr. Hagelin has conducted pioneering research at CERN (the European Center for Particle Physics) and SLAC (the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) and is responsible for the development of a highly successful grand unified field theory based on the superstring. His articles on electroweak unification, grand unification, supersymmetry and cosmology include some of the most cited references in the physical sciences. His work has appeared in leading scientific journals in the US and abroad, including The Physical Review, Physical Review Letters, Physics Letters, and Nuclear Physics.
As Director of the Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy, a progressive policy think tank, Dr. Hagelin has successfully headed a nationwide effort to identify, scientifically verify and promote cost-effective solutions to critical social problems in the fields of crime, health care, education, economy, biotechnology, energy and the environment. He works closely with the US Congress to implement these forward-looking, prevention-oriented solutions.
In addition, Dr. Hagelin has spent much of the past quarter century leading a scientific investigation into the foundations of human consciousness. In his book, Manual for a Perfect Government, Dr. Hagelin shows how, through educational programs that develop human consciousness, and through policies and programs that effectively harness the laws of nature, it is possible to solve acute social problems and enhance governmental effectiveness.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Dr. Hagelin was named winner of the prestigious Kilby Award, which recognizes scientists who have made “major contributions to society through their applied research in the fields of science and technology.” The award recognized Dr. Hagelin as “a scientist in the tradition of Einstein, Jeans, Bohr and Eddington.”
Dr. Hagelin received his A.B. summa cum laude from Dartmouth College and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University. He is currently Director of the Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy. He lives in Fairfield, Iowa. |
